Lecture: Constructing Learning Materials With Technologies.
Today, I learned about how to construct learning materials with technologies. Nowadays, Generation Z students prefer to learn visually rather than using traditional teaching and learning methods which is linear text such as textbook or powerpoint.
By using technologies, students can demonstrate creative thinking, innovative product and processes. It can help to improve the learning environment. We were introduced to Moovly, Powtoon and Biteable. All of the application can attract and engage student interest in the learning process as we can try to explain and teach a certain topic through video animation. The use of this technologies can help students to understand better as they can create it by themselves and improve their understanding by sharing the knowledge to others.
Tutorial: Augmented Reality (AR)
For this week, I learned about a new technology called Augmented Reality (AR). It is a real world environment whose elements are integrated by computer generated. We can also put a sensory input such as sound, video or graphic in the AR.
AR is a new technology that can be used for the educational purposes and now everyone can create their own AR. It is very easy as you only need to find the trigger image, record video, upload it at AURASMA and your AR is ready to watch.
Our next group project also related to AR as we need to create AR video based on our own creativity. We need to choose a subtopic and most of us chose to do English Language Learning as we are TESL student. Each group consist of four to five members and I am looking forward to work together and create our own AR.
